I really like eel. (Featuring little cousin Carina's fork going in for the kill.)




I love group gatherings for hot pot dinners. Actually, I really admire how Asian culture capitalizes (omg unintentional pun!!) on the role of food in bringing people together, both through preparation and the actual act of eating.

The brown triangular stuff is deep fried taro - how cool is that? The taro has to be fried so the surface will seal up and thus not fall apart once you drop it into the hot pot to cook.

Man, all this fish and squid and whatnot is starting to convince my stomach that seafood is the new meat.
