Kafe Leopold | Classic Georgetown Brunchin'

Chocolate rum drink
Cafe au lait and chocolate croissant
Feature quiche
Belgian waffles with whipped cream and honey
Fruit and yogurt parfait
Honestly, the food is never as fulfilling as I expect, but everything in and about Kafe Leopold is just so aesthetically appealing. And I'm a huge sucker for awesome ambiance, so here goes to quite an active future in patronage (and wallet depleting).

{yelp 3/4/2014 review of the day:}

Classiness and perfect light fluffy waffles. Yup, I'm solddddd!

Honestly, my favorite part is the ambiance. Located inside a quaint little alleyway, KL's effortlessly simple yet super trendy at the same time and surrounded by cute shops I wish I could afford - the classic sophisticated brunch formula (and sit outside if you can!). Service is slow, but they're busy so you just gotta deal.

Most of the food is pretty solid but not exceptional - the prices reflect the presentation more than the taste to me. The lemon soufflĂ© pancakes were feelin' pretty dense by the time I finished, and the parfait was a bit bland (Seriously, if I'm paying like 8 dollas for a simple parfait it better be a daaaang good one). Still pretty, though - it's just too bad my stomach don't care for da looks as much as my eyes.

The savory options awesomely explode with flavor (exhibit a: the specialty quiche!!), but thus they are also pretty heavy. I only had a couple stolen bites from friends' entrees, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to down a whole thing (like the salmon hash which was a little too salty for comfort).

The waffles were amazing and heavenly and have I mentioned they are amazing? Their fancy pastries are also next on my must try list.

All in all, I would say you're paying more for the experience, but hey it's Georgetown and it's worth it.
